Cookies

Short answer: in this version Synla sets no cookies for measurement or advertising, and loads nothing from third parties in your browser.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technology, such as the browser's storage (localStorage and sessionStorage), is also covered by the rules on storing and reading data on your equipment.

The rule is in chapter 9, section 28 of the Swedish Electronic Communications Act (2022:482). Under it, data may be stored on or read from your equipment only if you have been given information about the purpose and have consented. Consent is not needed when the storage is necessary for a service you have expressly asked for. The supervisory authority is the Post and Telecom Authority (PTS).

What Synla stores on your device

  • Cookies: none.
  • Browser storage: the delete key for your report is kept in sessionStorage, only while the tab is open. The key lets you delete your own report. A note that the offer in the report has already been shown is also kept there, so that it is not shown again in the same tab. We judge that it is needed for the service you request, so we do not ask first. That is our own judgement of what is required.
  • Third parties: no fonts, images, maps or scripts are fetched from other companies when you visit the site. Your browser only contacts us.

Payment and Stripe

When you go on to pay you are sent to Stripe's payment page. Stripe is a separate service with its own privacy policy and sets its own cookies on its page. Those cookies are not set by Synla and we do not control them. Read more at Stripe: Stripe's privacy policy.

Measurement and statistics

If we use statistics to understand how the site is used (planned as a later part of the service) we ask first. You then get a box where Accept and Decline are equally clear. Without your approval no measurement is loaded and no measurement cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time. When it exists we update this page with which cookies are used, how long they last and who receives the data.

How to control cookies yourself

You can block or delete cookies and browser storage in your browser's settings. How depends on the browser you use, see its help pages. If you close the tab the delete key disappears. You can then no longer delete the report yourself, but it is deleted automatically after 30 days anyway.
